The Association for the Protection of Personal Data (in Czech: Spolek pro ochranu osobních údajů) is a professional association in personal data protection for the private and public sector, including municipalities. It is also an umbrella organization for data protection officers – particularly those appointed according to Article 37 of the GDPR (Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and the Council). However, anyone interested in personal data protection is welcome to join.
JUDr. Vladan Rámiš, PhD acts as the Chairman and Ing. Václav Mach as the Deputy Chairman.

The Association invites anyone who cares about accurate and lawful handling of information and personal data, no matter the scale or scope, paper- or computer-based or electronic communications.
We promote sharing experiences, organize professional gatherings, contribute to the creation of best practices and codes of conduct, and warn about any risks related to the privacy and personal data protection.
The Association sets up expert working groups that deal with individual areas of data protection to work in the most efficient manner. The following expert working groups are currently active:

- GDPR Impacts on Innovative Sector
- Media Sector and Journalists
- Privacy in the Financial Sector
- Direct Marketing and Internet Advertising
- Electronic Communications
- Universities and High Schools
All Association members who are willing to participate in an expert commission may turn to the leader of the particular working group or the Association Chairman. Any request or recommendation on activities of commissions and working groups can be addressed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The scope of activities of each working group and its operations always depend on the working group members.
